Sorry. Been driving behind someone with narrow dim  running lights because he thought it was cool to black out his taillights.

Judging by the roads around here it seems the object is to make every light as dim as possible except the headlights which should be able to burn the hair off from your arms at 10ft.

I was already on edge because on the interstate there was another asshole jumping around between lanes and tailgating everyone in sight, but he only had one functional (and dim)  brake light.

I have seen five drivers in the last hour with two missing brake lights. I managed to notify just two of them, frustrating night.

Fenders, man! Even a cheap stinger style fender will keep your rear light, seat, and back dry.

Kinja'd!!!

I’m not a big fan of these because your legs and feet still get very wet, but I did have one on my Super-V because the rear suspension made it hard to mount a standard fender.

I appreciate you phrasing it like that . I honestly have nothing against smoked lenses, a s long as they use brighter bulbs to make up for it.

I thought of you today, told some Dodge ram driver he was driving around with his LED light bar on

unfortunately the people I see doing this tint the damn lenses so dark there’s no 315x bulb bright enough to compensate.

I wish the state of Michigan would separate “defective” and “improper” equipment into two separate traffic offenses.  “Defective” equipment, meaning something not functioning, would be a waived if you present evidence of a fix within the usual allotted time period.  “Improper” equipment, meaning something you illegally modified, should require both evidence of being restored to stock and you still have to pay the fine.

We all have some kind of vanity issue going, or else we wouldn’t care much  what we drive.

I’d put real money on him doing that on purpose.  I don’t know what these brodozer douchebags think they’re accomplishing, unless their goal is to intentionally piss people off.

I’ve started seeing people driving with alternate lights, close to the road where fog lights would be but they’re not yellow. It seems clear they’re rewiring the controls, but to what purpose ( other than it must look cool to them) is not clear.

I’m pretty sure he also blocked off part of the light to make them look L-shaped like some DRLs. Where are the police when you need them?

I saw an Infinity SUV do this yesterday on I-65. Maybe it was the same person...

I think they all share the same defective gene, but this wasn’t an SUV.

You could always just get some black ones and they just disappear over your tires.

Sounds like you need lights that are easier to release, or harder...

Or you could get helmet mounted lights. Y es, I know your neighbors will laugh at you for wearing a helmet because no one does of there, but as someone who has bounced their (helmeted) head off pavement, I strongly recommend helmets.

i need to stop being a dumbass and forgetting to take me lights off

also i had a head mounted light... it was a fantastic thing.... till i crashed and it tried to hole my skull (luckily i have a thick skull)

but yeah... i have helmets... i only wear them when im at an event... or if im planning something extra stupid

you are right tho... i should... but i wont
